Reiki is a healing which uses the body's own healing powers, each living thing on this planet have the power to heal its-self generally known as 'Life Force Energy' there are many forms of Reiki but the two most common today are Usui Reiki and Spiritual. The difference between the two are very slim as both are in close contact with Spirit, while both kinds of Healing relies upon Spirit to administer healing, Usui also uses symbols to enhance the power of healing, further, Usui, by consent from the patient/client also uses 'hands on' treatment whereby the Therapist lays his / her hands upon the patient/client where Spirit healers do not. It is therefore for this reason that Therapists are not Healers themselves but Channels for Spirit who actually administer the healing.
Reiki is, by the way, a complimentary form of therapy to the usual day to day Medical Practice. A Healer will not give you a diagnosis, offer prescribed medication, administer any form of drugs, medications or other related matter.
Healing via Reiki method is as stated the use of life force energy, an energy which we all live within, commonly known as Auras and Chakras. Auras surround the body while Chakras run through the body from the Root {coloured Red} to the Crown {coloured Violet }. During healing the Therapist can tell what parts of the body is in need of attention by what he or she senses and will act accordingly thereby giving the best quality therapy at exactly the right places.
